Are the two homes near each other? +
No — they are two different getaways. Lakesmith Sunset Cove is on Lewis Smith Lake in Crane Hill, Alabama; Creekside Pour House is in the Tennessee countryside near McEwen, about an hour west of Nashville. Each books separately.
How many people can stay? +
Sunset Cove sleeps up to 10 guests across the main home and the studio guesthouse. The Pour House is an adults-only (21+) retreat for up to 4 guests in two queen bedrooms.
Is the Pour House really adults-only? +
Yes — Creekside Pour House is designed as an adults-only (21+) escape. Sunset Cove welcomes families.
Can I bring a boat to Sunset Cove? +
Yes. The private dock has space to tie up next to it, with a swim platform, high jump, covered seating, and two kayaks for guests. There is ample truck-and-trailer parking and a roundabout driveway. The owners’ boat on the lift is not for guest use. Smith Lake Park’s public launch is about 15 minutes away.
What is the hidden speakeasy? +
Behind an ordinary-looking bookshelf at the Pour House is a 1930s prohibition-style lounge — moody lighting, vintage decor, a record player, chess and backgammon, and a photo-op corner with era hats and accessories. Bring a bottle, spin a record, and settle in.
Are pets allowed? +
No — we kindly ask all guests to honor the no-pet policy at both homes. Undisclosed pets forfeit the stay, and pet hair found after checkout incurs an additional $500 cleaning fee.
What are check-in and checkout times? +
Self check-in by keypad is after 4:00 PM at Sunset Cove and after 3:00 PM at the Pour House. Checkout is before 11:00 AM at both homes. Ask us about early check-in or late checkout.
Is there Wi-Fi? +
Yes — both homes have Wi-Fi. At Sunset Cove the guesthouse studio does not have Wi-Fi (the main home does). At the Pour House the signal is strong indoors but can fade outdoors near the creek — which is rather the point.
Anything else to know about the properties? +
Both homes are single-level with keypad self check-in and exterior security cameras. The Pour House sits on a working countryside homestead — expect wildlife, frog-and-cricket evenings, and creek access up to the posted property boundaries. At Sunset Cove, guests have the full main home, guesthouse, and dock; the brown shed and the owners’ boat are off-limits.
Are parties or events allowed? +
No. These are quiet retreats, not event venues. Max occupancy, quiet hours, and house rules protect the neighbors and keep the homes ready for every guest. Guests not on the reservation may be asked to leave.
